As a program officer at The Conrad Prebys Foundation, Veronica Blea leads initiatives in healthcare, medical research, and youth success, focusing on the intersection of these areas. Her approach is rooted in research and community engagement, ensuring that San Diego voices are at the heart of every project she oversees.

Before joining the foundation, Veronica served in the U.S. Navy as a Gas Turbine Systems Technician. Her passion for advocating for underserved populations led her to a career in social services, where she has spent the last sixteen years. Over this time, Veronica has held various positions, including her most recent roles at Interfaith Community Services as the Director of Supportive Services and then the Director of Shelters. Throughout her career, Veronica has provided direct service, developed programs in areas such as asset building, self-sufficiency, and housing, and formed key healthcare partnerships. She has also been a mentor to many, helping others grow in their own leadership journeys.

Veronica earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communication from California State University San Marcos and her Master’s degree in Public Administration from California State University Long Beach.

In her free time, Veronica enjoys catching live music at local venues or relaxing at home in Oceanside with her husband Josh and their dog, Otis.
