Executive Administrator
Brenda joined the foundation after having served nearly two decades with the City of San Diego. An experienced and committed public servant, Brenda began her career in local government in 2004, when she joined the City of San Diego’s Office of Homeland Security. During her tenure with the city, Brenda provided high-level executive support working at the Family Justice Center Alliance, the Mayor’s office, and four City Council offices. Most recently, Brenda served as Director of Office Administration and Policy Advisor for Councilmember Stephen Whitburn, where she oversaw administrative operations, managed scheduling, liaised across council offices and between stakeholders, and created and maintained processes to streamline operations to best serve constituents’ needs.
As a member of MANA de San Diego, Brenda is committed to creating positive change and uplifting young girls and Latinas. She is a fierce champion for women’s rights, and as the Vice Chair of Operation for Hope Foundation, a nonprofit focused on providing awareness, support, and advocacy for victims of domestic violence, Brenda continues her advocacy work to help curb domestic violence and sexual assault.
In her spare time, Brenda enjoys spending time with her daughter and loved ones, traveling, and baking.
