Challenge invites out of the box ideas to help San Diego’s youth have a brighter future
Prebys Sparx is a groundbreaking challenge aimed at improving youth mental health and well-being across San Diego County.
Tess Karesky brings a decade of experience in marketing research, analysis, and consulting to the Prebys Foundation. In her role, she supports the communications team in executing projects that help share the foundation’s story and advance its mission.
Tess began her career at CDK Global while completing her B.A. in Mass Communication with a minor in Film. There, she developed social media content, wrote speeches, and crafted white papers to improve the car-buying experience. Working closely with her supervisor, Tess helped launch CDK Global’s first market research department, laying the groundwork for future success.
Outside of her professional life, Tess’s journey has been shaped by creativity and adventure. From her early interest in acting to learning guitar at a local music store in Phoenix, her creative pursuits have always been part of her identity. Tess’s experiences volunteering in Buenos Aires and living in different U.S. cities have also broadened her perspective. Her move to San Diego, a city that resonates with her values, has been especially meaningful.
Since arriving in San Diego, Tess has immersed herself in the local community, enjoying improv theater, art classes, and building strong connections with her queer friend group. Her passion for the region shines through in her excitement about being a part of the Prebys Foundation.
